Customer reviews for HTC ONE v

HTC ONE v

The HTC One V features a unique curved-chin design that makes it easy to hold and a distinctive accessory to your life. But don’t be deceived by its compact size. Like all One series phones, it packs an impressive list of features including a best-in-class camera.

I do not like this phone (One V) at all. It is slow, shuts off by itself, goes black, freezes and the apps shut down. Although, the sound is great, the rest isn't.
No, I do not recommend this product.

Had purchased HTC One V 4 months back, it already restarts on its own, also it died without doing anything. The technicians at the service center did fix the mobile, saying the motherboard had died.
A mobile purchased for 18K and the motherboard fries within 4 months, this is too bad, though I like the phone.
Yes, I recommend this product.

I have been using the phone since almost 6 months. Features like camera, screen size, sound quality, etc. are great. Overall the package would have been awesome if the processor was a bit more faster, the RAM higher & the battery life longer. Some of the apps fail to run because of the slow processor & RAM. The phone gets hot when there is use of WiFi/3G enabled applications. Hangs a lot of times. Not what I expected it to be. Very very disappointed.
No, I do not recommend this product.

When I first purchased this phone it was great. I loved how I could record my kids then snap my favorite images from that video. The internet was super fast... Then one day... I could not get into my text messages. I would click on it and for about five minutes it would come up as if it was going to load then go back out. It has done this since the 2nd month I had it. Then all of a sudden the whole left side of my keyboard stopped working (No water damage). Not only that, but sometimes it won't let me turn the wifi off and it will not recognize my sd card for days. ALSO.. the battery can not be removed and the sound quality is mediocre (not really beats audio worthy; not much bass). I've only had this phone for 4 months. So sad.. It was so fun at first. :(
No, I do not recommend this product.

I only bought this phone for the internal storage which claims to be 4Gb but when I look on the phone storage It says 0.91 Gb. This was a terrible investment and I urge you to go with the Evo 4G.

When first saw it in mall was amazed by its design and features, read the reviews and thought that this phone must be really good, then ordered it and became miserable with my choice. Ever since I bought it, it crashes all the time. It is as slow as a snail. When listening to music the section switches off whenever it wants, when I want to call someone I have to wait for at least 3 minutes till it understands what to do. The performance is the slowest I have ever seen. Downloaded Temple run - bad choice, could not play it even for a minute because it stopped working and started to show errors. I have this phone only for few (5) months and I am fed up with it. It is not my pleasure to write a bad review, but it works really, really bad.

This is a good phone in it's price range compared to the others available in the market right now however, it's pretty heavy and the contact storage and call history takes a long time to load after booting. Also at times these features would just not work and you would have to reboot to find out that the last call that you missed is not visible any more. Be very careful.

Why don't you use fast boot then ?
Or I recommend you to un-check contatcts imported from facebook, Yahoo or other mail id's.
Then complain about slow loading of contacts.

I bought this phone from Virgin Mobile online, the phone itself is nice quality but I could not use it since VM activation failed and after 1 1/2 hours on the phone with VM customer service I decided to RMA it, a major disappointment overall. Only thing I notice with the phone was signal strength, overall very poor depending on how the phone was held, death grip anyone? The antenna design seems to be flawed, but I also have to blame VM (Sprint Network) spotty service which in my area was noted to be good but was actually weak. Was told to stand by a window, like that is the solution eventhough I could not even activate it.
Make sure you read up on the antenna issues, it appears to be an issue with this phone based on user reports in other forums, it's really unfortunate because the phone overall is nice and has a good feel to it, the chin is not something particularly care for but what does it matter, no signal = totally useless.
No, I do not recommend this product.

I have been using this phone for over four months now. Initially I really got attracted by its slick and sturdy design...
But when it comes to the core...performance...this phone seriously lags...It's just so slow in everything it does...be it opening apps...or contacts...or dialing...or switching screens...or gaming (temple run just won't work)
It's really frustrating after spending nearly 20K and to get such poor performance quality...

Not what I expected

PostedSeptember 1, 2012
From:Edmonton

We bought the phone for our son going to Junior High and it was recommended by Telus our current provider. After two days and much incorrect information...very frustrating... I will be returning the phone. Unfortunately, the phone doesn't have enough room to play the "Show Me" info on how to use the phone without buying an SD card for additional memory; apparently, all the preloaded info by htc takes all the room on the phone so you must buy additional space right off the start. Then, you can't buy games without accessing a credit card which is not great for a twelve year old and then if you do link the cc you do not have enough storage and are back to buying additional memory. So I give up and will be returning this phone and getting something else as I think what's next....Good luck if you choose it. Oh one good thing the htc tech line was quite helpful, mind you that is the luck of the draw getting a knowledgeable person on the other end of the line these days. I wouldn't recommend the phone.

Hello,
You need an SD card for your phone if it is not provided with an internal memory size of min. 4 GB.
That is a rule.

bought this phone in april n immediately starting facing signal reception problems. gave the phone to the service centre and also wrote to the customer care. as a courtesy, the HTC people replaced my handset with a new one, thanks you HTC for such nice gesture.
but even after getting the new replaced handset, the problem is still persisting. no change in the poor signal reception of this phone. where other phones show full signal this phone make my number not reachable.
unable to use this device for which is meant for primarily i.e. telephony.
so beware prospective buyers, your valuable purchase might end up good for nothing.
HOPE HTC PEOPLE NOTICE THIS.

I was very excited to get this phone last month. But after 5 weeks of use I'm not impressed with much other than the new Android 4 ICS and the camera app. The rest is so far not worth the money. Things I've noticed so far- The lock screen shortcuts keep disappearing and I have to restart to bring them back but that only lasts a couple hours. Second the call volume is only ok on full blast in a quite environment, get out on a busy street and you have a very hard time hearing the person on the other end. Third, the signal for cell and wifi drops to one bar in my apartment as soon as I touch the phone, What's that about? My old LG P500 had full bars in the same location! This is my first phone with Sense and lots of reviews said it was great but I'm not impressed at all. I like the music player quite a bit but that is all. The clock is lacking features and is very hard to use as a daily alarm. The address book contact card for each one of my contacts doesn't show the whole address! This makes me furious. I have to go into the edit contact setting to view the whole address. This is a major problem and makes the whole Google address syncing useless. Why would HTC do that? So over all it's not useless but I'm totally under whelmed. Maybe if HTC fixes some of the issues or finds a way to get us to the new Android 4.1 soon I won't abandon ship from the HTC camp but at this point I'm not seeing any compelling reason to stick with this phone. Has anyone else had any of these problems, or is it just my phone? Maybe I should return it?
No, I do not recommend this product.

I have experienced the same problem of the disappearing of the lock screen icons... moreover, I have experienced that there is a small yellow patch on my screen as well which I am sure is not from outside of the screen.... no front camera... apart from design and camera rest is below average.....

Camera & video playback feature is good but sadly both are faulty form manufacturing site in 70% of sets in sold out in market. Camera & video play stopped in same time. My friend circle is fan of HTC and my nine friends buy it and out of nine, same problem in eight handset.
No, I do not recommend this product.
